HyperAccel, a Korean AI semiconductor startup specializing in large language model (LLM) acceleration, announced on the 26th that it has secured 55 billion KRW (approx. $40M USD) in Series A funding. The company is developing LLM-dedicated server solutions based on its self-designed LLM Processing Unit (LPU).
The Series A round was led by Korea Investment Partners, with participation from KDB Korea Development Bank, KB Investment, Mirae Asset Venture Investment, SBVA, BonAngels, KDB Capital, LB Investment, Company K Partners, as well as global investor Vickers Venture Partners.
Hee-jin Kim, Senior Team Leader at Korea Investment Partners, commented:
“HyperAccel is developing AI semiconductors optimized for LLMs, capable of delivering high-efficiency chips with better cost-performance and energy efficiency than NVIDIA. The company is already co-developing with several major corporations domestically and globally, and we expect production to begin by the end of next year.”
